College of Social Sciences is the second biggest non-state higher education institution in Lithuania according to the number of students. During its thirteen years of practice, the college has gained the reputation of an advanced institution both among local communities and regional business sector. The aim of the studies is to prepare students for a particular profession and give theoretical basics and skills necessary for future professional activities. The policy of the institution is to pay most of the attention to the practical skills rather than academic knowledge. After the graduation from the college the graduates of all study programmes acquire higher non-university education and are granted Professional Bachelor’s degree.
The college provides International Business Management, Business Management, Law, Finance, Banking, Computer Programming, and English Language study programmes delivered as full-time (3 academic years) and part-time (4 academic years) studies. Academic year is divided into fall and spring semesters.
The college pays much attention for internationalization of studies. Two study programmes are taught in the English language in College of Social Sciences: International Business Management (IBM) and English language (EL) studies. The acquired professional qualification of IBM programme is Manager with two optional fields of specialization: International Trade Management or International Companies’ Management, whereas the qualification of English language study programme is Translator with specialization of either Office Administration or Tourism Administration. These study programmes are provided in Vilnius branch of the college with modern facilities and attractive study environment. Studies in English are provided as full-time.
College of Social Sciences is the initiator and coordinator of the Joint Degree Programme “Development and Implementation of Joint Study Programme in International Business Management”. The programme includes partners from different European countries: Rezekne Higher Education Institution (Latvia), College of Computer Science (Poland), Braganca Polytechnic Institute (Portugal), University of Pitesti (Romania), Cumbernauld College (Scotland, UK).
